Community Sports Coaches are an initiative that provides the county with a coaching team that is qualified to National Governing Body standards. These coaches are committed to Continuous Professional Development and have been checked through the Criminal Records Bureau.
The Role of a Community Sports Coach (CSC)
- To coach young people with a focus on a particular sport to be delivered predominantly outside of curriculum time
- To coach at a local level with a focus on the FUNdamentals/Learning to Train or equivalent development phases of National Governing Body player pathways
- Retain young people in sport by ensuring a high quality, enjoyable, young person-centred experience and providing guidance on progression opportunities based on the young persons interests and abilities
